The Benjamin Fellowship in Judaic Studies at Syracuse University

The Syracuse University Judaic Studies Program announces the availability of an endowed graduate fellowship for the 2006-2007 academic year, with renewal (or replacement by a departmental teaching assistantship) for the subsequent three or four years. The Benjamin Fellow will receive full tuition and approximately $15,000. The Fellow is eligible for an additional $2,000 stipend, which may be used for an approved research project. Field is open, but especially desirable would be any aspect of Judaic literature. We will also consider applications in other areas or at the meeting point between Judaic traditions and another field. Duties involve roughly 15 hours weekly as teaching assistant for the B. G. Rudolph Professor.

Candidates may apply for admission to one of the following graduate programs at Syracuse University: English, Fine Arts, Humanities, Linguistics, Philosophy, Religion, History, or Visual and Performing Arts. The applicant should be nominated by a graduate program for the position of the Benjamin Fellow. Candidates should write or call individual departments, which follow different procedures and deadlines for application and admission.
